Pompeii plaster body casts
In this photo it shows a plaster cast body. these were made when Pompeii was excavated. The bodies had rotted away (apart from the bones) leaving a hollow where the body once was. Plaster paris was injected into the hollows and was left to set. Once the plaster paris was set the amazingly accurate casts of the bodies were left. Even facial features were still showing! These casts gave an incredible insight into how the victims of pompei died.

Some extra information on the eruption
#The inhabitants of Pompeii did not know that Vesuvius was a volcano, as it hadn’t erupted in 1,800 years. There isn’t even a Latin word for volcano.
#The longer a volcano sleeps, the more deadly the eruptionis. There were signs that Vesuvius was beginning to stir – earthquakes, ground rising up and underground springs drying up  but the people of Pompeii didn’t know how to read these signs or understand what they meant.
#something that might of saved some of the peoples lives is if the wind had been blowing the other direction. If the wind was blowing the way it normaly did not so much ash would of landed on pompeii so the city wouldn't have been buried. This would of saved some peoples lived but that fateful day the wind blowed the ash toward the city of Pompeii.

Pompeiis Mosaics
Mosaics were are very popular art form back in Roman times and were used to decorate floors, walls and ceilings. The mosaics came in many different colours, shapes and showed different things. When the eruption happened all these mosaics were buried and hidden from the world until Pompeii was rediscovered. Amazingly all the mosaics were preserved beautifuly all the tiles still intact with bright colours like the day of the eruption leaving behind a great example of Roman artwork
